Island Lyrics: Mimi Schell

Everyone‘s raised on an island
A social atoll
Brought up by families and teachers
And some others more

And soon we mature setting sails
To the vastness of our dreams
Junior discoverers,
I know what it means

And we’re sailing
Sailing far for love
And we’re sailing
Sailing far for love

Mapping out ideas beginning
With first random spots
Looking for direction
Connecting the dots

Of networks in star charts,
Tree roots, world maps or anything else
We‘re looking for evidence
And something of sense

And we’re sailing
Sailing far for love
And we’re sailing
Sailing far for love

I hope you’ll make friends
I hope you’ll make love
I hope you’ll send words of kindness
And peace
On the wings of white doves
I‘m wishing wealth for you
As abundance of your heart
Travel through life
And make it your art
Your art
Your art
